Tate Farms

We went to Tate Farms last Saturday to find some good Halloween punkins. I've heard about these places/farms the last couple of years from friends and family but had never been to one. It was awesome!! I grew up somewhat of a city girl so there were lots of new things for me there too. Stacey Smith told us about it and so we all went together. Below you can see Anna and Olivia on their way in with good ole Dave in tow.

Dave found his first Scarecrow on the way in, they shook hands and immediately hit it off.

They had tons of stuff for the kids to do there. Swings, slides, teeter-totter things, etc....

Ooh, lots of small farm animals too. Everybody loved the little piglets. I was of course captivated by the puppies. There were goats, bunnies and I think a couple others too.

It was funny the pigs immediately started swarming around Sara's stroller, I'm thinking they probably already knew that food would magically be coming over the side of that thing at some point. It was cool though because then she got to pet them too.

Oh, I thought this one was really cool looking, a huge trailer full of cotton they had just picked. All the kids jumped up in there and had fun jumping around. It was VERY difficult for me not to do the same but there were lots of kids and I did not think crushing one of them would be a very good idea.
This one was my other favorite, one of these days I am going to jump into one of these corn bins. Everyone had a blast, Sara even got to do this one.

How 'bout anudder one? Yes I wanted to jump out of the perfectly good barn and into the hay as well :-)
I like Dave's concentration face for the slide :-)

I just thought this little Punkin Shack was too cool! Hard to tell but most of those pumpkins (which if you don't already know just happens to be one of my favorite foods!) was between the size of a softball and a small head. Sorry, can't think of anything else between a softball and a soccer ball.

Olivia and Anna had their faces painted, I just thought this was a good picture of her.

The kids LOVED this one and I can't say as I blame them!

Dave on a big tractor, of course he wouldn't look at me.

We spent about 4 hours there just playing. We took a hay ride to the pumpkin patch and picked some nice ones out. Olivia and I ran through a hay maze, that was fun. It got me thinking that our back yard would make a perfect place for some kind of maze. It's all fenced in and there's a gate on either side, we could just make the whole thing one big maze! Loose all sorts of neighborhood kids in there!!! Any and all suggestions/ideas are welcome for such a project!
