Vacation - First Stop, Baby Lydia!

Ok, apologize for the delay but it's been quite busy lately. As you know we took a trip to Myrtle Beach and below is a shot of Dave helping us pack. After dragging the suitcases around he had to check them all out from the inside too.

We took the long way to the beach so I could get a baby fix and meet my new niece Lydia. Very much worth it!! She is of course beautiful and very tiny and sweet. I found it quite difficult to put her down and was tempted to just take her with me!

Livey was as captivated as I and spent some time holding her as well (when I could stand to give her up!) and did a very good job, she was very gentle. Dave was duly impressed as well but I was a bit worried when he started swinging the plastic golf club near her head. Fortunately he was quickly on his way with the toy stroller (as you can see in the upper corner of the picture) so I didn't have to do the Mommy Straight Jacket Hold on him.

Emma and Chloe were out with their grandparents that morning but we got to visit with them on the way back as well but I'm not sure at this point if I was taking pictures then.

Too Bad the Kids Didn't Come to Work Today!

We just got back from a week at the beach (more to come on that later) and while I was gone Margaret and the guys in my group at work decided to show me how much they missed me. Enough to fill my cube with about 400 balloons. Too bad I didn't bring the kids with me!

My desk and chairs are under there somewhere. As usual Tony didn't have much to say on the matter.
They even included heart shaped balloons to show me how much they love me!

The aftermath. I think they had as much fun popping them as they did blowing them up.

Not a bad way to come back to work! Lots of laughs had by all this morning. I was completely surprised by this and was left momentarily speechless. I know, hard to believe but true none the less. I'll be posting some of the vacation stories soon but I thought some of you would get a kick out of these pictures. Oh, and for those of you who don't know 'Tony' is a life sized cardboard cutout of the race car driver Tony Stewart that was left over from the cube's previous tenant. We get along pretty good, he's on the quiet side and doesn't argue with me at all!

Welcome Baby Lydia!!!

Baby Lydia was born last night at about 3 am and we are all very excited to see her!! We can't wait! Especially me!! I'm told she has all her fingers and toes, is between 7 and 8 pounds and I think 18 inches long and of course she has red hair :-)

I told the kids about her this morning, Dave gives me a huge wide-eyed grin and says 'BABY!' and Olivia proceeds start wailing about how she's having to wait forever for me to have a baby in my tummy. Oh and she wants me to have 2 for her now.

I had to include this picture from the car this morning, it was too funny. I felt like her driver or chauffeur. She's wearing my sports watch and chewing gum. But it's the sun glasses and her arms thrown back over her head that really get you. She's also started saying this of late - 'To know me is to love me'. No, I cannot stop the laughter or the huge smirk on my face.

Dave of course is unaffected by it all.
